About The Position

The Department of Environmental Quality/Office of Management and Finance has a vacancy. The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality’s (LDEQ) mission is to provide service to the people of Louisiana through comprehensive environmental protection in order to promote and protect health, safety and welfare. Join a dedicated Human Resources team that supports more than 700 employees across multiple LDEQ offices. In this position, you’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate payroll and benefits administration, maintaining data integrity, and supporting critical compliance functions that keep the agency running smoothly. This position offers meaningful, fast-paced work with opportunities to contribute to agency-wide improvements and strengthen HR operations.

Requirements

  • Three years of human resources experience; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR A bachelor’s degree.
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and analyze payroll, benefits, retirement, and timekeeping data in LaGov HCM to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
  • Generate, audit, and reconcile HR reports used to monitor personnel actions, data integrity, and compliance across multiple divisions.
  • Process separations, reallocations, permanent status actions, and other personnel transactions while ensuring documentation accuracy.
  • Communicate with OGB, LASERS, TRSL, OSUP, and other agencies to resolve benefits, retirement, and payroll matters.
  • Assist with policy development, crisis leave administration, PPA processing, and serve as backup within the Benefits and Payroll Consultant Group.
