About The Position

The Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections – Corrections Services is seeking qualified candidates to fill Human Resources Analyst positions (levels A, B, and C) at the Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola, LA. This role supports critical HR functions including employee relations, leave administration, payroll/timekeeping, recruitment, and compliance with Civil Service rules and departmental policies. The department's mission is to promote public safety and strengthen communities through fair, professional, and responsive corrections services, with a commitment to protecting the people of Louisiana with integrity, accountability, and respect. Requirements

  • Three years of human resources experience; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR A bachelor’s degree.
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in human resources, payroll, or personnel management is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret HR data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities across recruitment, retention, compensation, and workforce planning.
  • Prepare dashboards and reports for leadership using tools such as Excel, HRIS platforms, and data visualization software.
  • Maintain data integrity within HR systems and ensure compliance with reporting standards.
