About The Position

The HR Analyst (Payroll) helps process payroll, edit reports, verify salary calculations, and serve as the back-up to the Payroll supervisor. They also maintain and update associated records in accordance with City policies, ordinances, pay plans, and federal and state guidelines. Additionally, they cross-train on other HR processes and perform specialized clerical work.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2 years of related experience and/or training
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 12 to 18 months of management experience
  • People and/or project management
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier
  • Ability to meet the required physical standards for this position
  • Ability to pass extensive background process and pre-employment drug and audio screenings

Responsibilities

  • Assist and backup the Payroll Supervisor regarding all aspects of processing payroll
  • Ensure payroll records comply with regulations and overtime calculations are correctly reported
  • Monitor leave balances, verify leave accruals, and prepare listings of expiring leave balances
  • Edit, balance, and remit vendor reports, including communicating with vendors
  • Assist in the preparation of W2 statements
  • Assist in administration of pension refunds and contributions
  • Provide technical instruction for payroll functions and assist
  • Assist in payroll tax activities
  • Maintain related records to payroll, pension, and leave balances
  • Respond to verification of employment requests, DOT verifications, unemployment notices, etc.
