This position performs professional human resources work in the areas of employee relations support; recruitment and selection; new employee orientation; records management; workers compensation; and performance management. The Human Resource Generalist advises hiring managers on internal and external recruitment and selection strategies, administers the recruitment process, and processes, verifies, and maintains documentation relating to personnel activities. This role also provides advice and technical assistance on a wide range of human resources issues, develops and maintains job descriptions, assists in the administration of the employee performance evaluation system, and participates in Open Enrollment sessions. Additionally, the Generalist is responsible for maintaining departmental records, including personnel, medical, and drug testing files, and managing the City’s Worker’s Compensation databases.
