About The Position

Your role at Samsonite: The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will build trusted relationships across the organization to drive programs, policies, and procedures in support of Samsonite employees and business objectives. With a keen ability to navigate the organization and collaborate effectively, this position will consult with employees of all levels, coaching and guiding managers and employees across a variety of people-oriented concerns. The successful HRBP will have experience influencing outcomes in a fast-paced environment and can make meaningful change. You will work on-site 4 days per week with the opportunity to work remotely one day per week. Provides day to day support of employees in multiple locations utilizing HR expertise and perspective Provides guidance and support to managers regarding employee relations, including coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions Partners with Shared Service teams to provide payroll, benefits and compensation solutions that drive business objectives Partners with the HR Shared Services team on talent acquisition needs and manages the open roles process In partnership with leadership, develops local initiatives that drive employee engagement, increases morale, improves workplace relationships, boosts productivity as well as attracts and retains top talent. Participates in and drives various employee led committees including social, community, green, and diversity teams Champions, manages, and facilitates the overall Performance cycle Recommends and implements resourceful, alternative, or original ideas and procedures. Must be a self-starter who shows initiative, agility, resourcefulness, and flexibility Collaborates with colleagues in the Human Resources department to develop programs and solutions Partners with department management on promotions, transfers, and new hires Mediates and resolves employee relations issues; conducts thorough and objective investigations when necessary. Acts as liaison to staffing agencies; partners to create a strong relationship that addresses questions, concerns, and company requirements Ensures regulatory compliance with legal requirements pertinent to the day-to-day management of employees; collaborates with the Legal department when necessary. Develops, implements, and ensures adherence to personnel policies and procedures. Interprets and explains personnel policies to employees and management. Co-chairs Distribution Center Safety Committee and ensures facility is in compliance with all approved safety plans. Manages the accident investigation and workers compensation process along with OSHA reporting requirements. Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources Management, Organizational Psychology or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience as an HRBP or HR Manager
  • Previous experience in Human Resources, professional development, and training.
  • Current, in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to Human Resources, employee management, and federal and state employment laws.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with OSHA Requirements desirable but not required
  • Prior experience with Canada employment law a plus
