About The Position

This position is responsible for day-to-day requirements of all components of Human Resources including recruitment and selection, employee relations, policy administration, performance management, disability management, and compensation administration. The incumbent will provide comprehensive full-cycle Human Resource support to employees and management, as well as identify and execute on HR related improvements and changes within the company.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education, specializing in Human Resources.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license, proof is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience leading full cycle recruitment and selection.
  • Experience with employee relations, including, conducting investigations and terminations.
  • Proven experience in disability management including overseeing leaves of absence, workplace accommodation and return to work.
  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and effectively manage conflict.
  • Experience in developing, coaching, motivating and mentoring others.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in unexpected situations.
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • Demonstrate strong integrity and respect for the confidentiality/privacy of employees and information.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in using computer applications and HRIS.
  • Willing to undergo a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture by partnering with leaders to design and support employee engagement activities that enhance morale and collaboration.
  • Provide advice and guidance on applicable employment legislation, policies, and HR best practices.
  • Conduct full-cycle recruitment and selection with an emphasis on supporting a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • Support and enhance employee-centric onboarding and offboarding experience, ensuring a smooth transition throughout the employee’s life cycle.
  • Partner with leaders to develop workforce plans, succession strategies and organizational design improvements.
  • Partner and coach managers on employee relations matters including performance management, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, workplace investigations and terminations.
  • Administering compensation, including evaluating and implementing salary adjustments that align with the company’s compensation philosophy, benchmarks and equity considerations.
  • Collaborate with leadership to assess training and development needs and support upskilling initiatives that build capacity and align with business goals.
  • Disability management includes managing employee leaves of absence, administering short- and long-term disability claims and evaluating and implementing workplace accommodations.
  • Develop, revise and maintain HR policies, practices and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency, legal compliance and alignment with organizational values.
  • Participate in the implementation of the company and HR operating plans, goals, and objectives.
  • Lead and support HR initiatives and projects.
  • Collaborate with other HR team members as required.
  • Some local travel within Manitoba will be required based on operational needs.
  • Other reasonable duties assigned.
