About The Position

Sterling Crane Canada, a part of Marmon Holdings (backed by Berkshire Hathaway), is seeking a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Advisor for their Vancouver, BC location. This is a permanent, full-time, salaried position reporting to the Regional Director. The role requires a passion for safety, excellent mentoring skills, and the ability to drive change. The HSE Advisor will collaborate with Branch Managers, Supervisors, and operations personnel to ensure provincial OH&S, client, and Sterling Crane HSE expectations are met or exceeded. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, with preference for candidates local to the Vancouver region. Requirements

3 – 5 years’ experience with heavy construction & heavy equipment.
Knowledge on the provincial legislation.
Clean Driver’s license sufficient to operate company vehicles.
Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
Strong computer skills.
MUST be local to Vancouver, BC.
Successful pre-employment testing (Criminal Background Check, Drug and Alcohol screening).

Nice To Haves

OH&S Certificate, a CRSP, NCSO or related designation
Field experience in a safety related role
Experience in FCC and online databases such as ISNet

Responsibilities

Carries out duties as may be required by the Director, Health and Safety such as workplace investigations and audits.
Monitors compliance with the use of in-house databases.
Liaises with health and safety regulatory authorities and customers.
Trains employees in best practices that will ensure safety while carrying out day-to-day work schedules.
