About The Position

The HSE Advisor will coordinate with the HSE Regional Manager and HSE team to ensure the effective use of best practices and consistency in approach to HSE responsibilities. This role promotes a risk-based approach to HSE management utilizing Company policies, standards, and processes for all operational activities. The advisor will provide HSE support, coaching, and training at all levels, promoting the Company’s commitment to a 24/7 safety culture for all workers. Responsibilities include planning and participating in HSE audits/reviews of drilling operations and related assigned areas to ensure proper implementation and compliance, supporting the implementation and achievement of HSE objectives and performance measures during all drilling operational activities, and leading initiatives to promote visible and proactive management commitment and employee engagement in HSE activities. The role also involves reviewing existing HSE training plans and specific training needs, providing training as appropriate, or facilitating visiting specialist trainers. Ensuring compliance with the system for collecting, storing, analyzing, tracking, and reporting HSE performance data (e.g., Incident report findings, Audit actions, and related HSE metrics) is crucial. The advisor will participate and audit job-planning activities, including Permission to Work (PTW), Job Safety Assessment (JSA), and hazard recognition. This position requires completing a monthly HSE report for the area of responsibility and participating in monthly drilling operational meetings and reviews. The advisor will also participate in risk management and HSE activities including risk assessments, audits, HSE Meetings, and onsite work activities.

Requirements

  • Technical proficiency in emergency response support of coworkers as needed, ensure compliance with safety procedures, and other additional tasks as assigned.
  • Technical proficiency in understanding and communicating regulations, risk management and risk assessment skills.
  • Technical proficiency in HSE auditing, incident investigation and documentation techniques.
  • Proficiency with written and email communication including use of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must have valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to meet requirements of Company’s Vehicle Use Agreement and Driving Policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Currently located in the Appalachia area.
  • Three (3) years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a strong understanding of related regulatory frameworks and HSE requirements. (for HSE Advisor I & II)
  • Four (4) years of experience in land-based drilling operations and a strong understanding of related regulatory frameworks and HSE requirements (for HSE Sr Advisor)
