About The Position

This course examines the anatomical and physiological basis of human immunity. Mechanisms involved in the immune response are examined from the perspective of defence against infectious agents. As well, autoimmunity, hypersensitivity, immunodeficiency, and the control of infectious disease from a public health perspective are considered.

Requirements

  • Doctoral Degree
  • PhD in Biology or a relevant discipline with an emphasis in Immunology/Vaccinology.
  • CV (Maximum of 10 pages, with 12-point font and 2.54 cm margins).
  • Candidate Application Form (CAF) submitted.
  • On the CAF, applicants must clearly outline only those qualifications which are relevant for each course for which they have applied and articulate how their work and academic experience enhances their ability to teach each course.
  • Verification of highest degree (highly recommended to include with application).
  • Applications must be received by 23:59 local time of the date of the posting.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous university teaching experience.
  • Refereed publications in the area of Immunology/Vaccinology.

Responsibilities

  • Teach HS300 BR: Infection & Immunity course during the Fall 2026 term.
  • Deliver lectures on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30 AM to 9:50 AM.
  • Manage a class size of approximately 24 students.
  • Assess student applications based on the Candidate Application Form (CAF), Curriculum Vitae, and any specifically referenced supplemental documents.
  • Adhere to the criteria established by the part-time hiring committee and the Contract Teaching Faculty and Part-time Librarians Collective Agreement.
