About The Position

Students will be introduced to the scientific study of the intersection between psychology and the law. Topics will include police psychology, eyewitness testimony, jury decision-making, mental illness, forensic assessment, psychopathy, child victims and witnesses, and young offenders.

Requirements

  • Master's degree with advanced doctoral training preferred.
  • Specialization in Psychology.
  • Specialization in Forensic Psychology.
  • Refereed publications in the area of forensic psychology required.
  • CV (Maximum of 10 pages, with 12-point font and 2.54 cm margins).
  • Candidate Application Form (CAF) submitted.
  • Verification of highest degree (highly recommended to include with application).
  • Ability to articulate how work and academic experience enhances ability to teach the course on the CAF.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous university teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach PS250 BR: Forensic Psychology course.
  • Deliver lectures on topics including police psychology, eyewitness testimony, jury decision-making, mental illness, forensic assessment, psychopathy, child victims and witnesses, and young offenders.
  • Assess student applications based on the Candidate Application Form (CAF), Curriculum Vitae, and any specifically referenced pages in supplemental documents.
  • Mark and grade student work.
  • Coordinate large classes or multi-section courses if applicable.
