About The Position

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to fill assistant positions within our highly competitive high school marching band program. These roles focus on the Front Ensemble (Colorguard, Front Ensemble Percussion) and Battery Percussion. Successful candidates will be responsible for teaching techniques, choreography, music fundamentals, marching skills, and performance preparation. The positions involve regular rehearsals on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, attendance at Friday night football games, and participation in Saturday competitions throughout the season. We are looking for individuals passionate about the marching arts, student growth, teamwork, and competitive excellence, who can foster a positive and disciplined rehearsal atmosphere.

Requirements

• Experience performing in a competitive colorguard setting (for Colorguard Instructor).
• Confidence teaching music fundamentals and marching technique (for Brass & Woodwind Technician).
• Confidence teaching keyboard percussion, auxiliary percussion, and ensemble music skills (for Front Ensemble Technician).
• Strong background in marching percussion (for Battery Percussion Technician).
• Confidence teaching musical and marching fundamentals in a competitive setting (for Battery Percussion Technician).

Nice To Haves

• Experience writing choreography and equipment work (for Colorguard Instructor).
• Experience in competitive marching arts (for Front Ensemble Technician).
• Passion for student development, performance excellence, and teamwork (for Front Ensemble Technician).

Responsibilities

• Teaching technique, choreography, and performance skills during rehearsals.
• Attending Friday night football games.
• Supporting the team/ensemble at Saturday competitions.
• Assisting with rehearsals, music ensemble development, and marching fundamentals.
• Supporting the musical and visual goals of the program.
• Teaching keyboard percussion, auxiliary percussion, and ensemble music skills.
• Teaching musicality, marching skills, and performance preparation.
• Motivating students while fostering discipline, teamwork, and excellence.
