About The Position

The Granville High School Marching Band is hiring an assistant band director for the 26-27 school year. This is a part-time supplemental position with a salary range between $3,761-$8,462 for the season, depending on experience. The selected candidate will be expected to attend summer rehearsals, after-school practices, performances, and games. Responsibilities include running/assisting with music rehearsals, sectionals, marching technique, and administrative tasks. The GHS Marching Band is a show-style band with approximately 130 members. Applicants do not have to be currently affiliated with a school, and qualifications may vary. Desired qualifications include a degree in music or at least strong musical training. However, any applicant with a musical background and/or marching band experience may apply. The position is a Supplemental/Pupil Activity contract in accordance with Ohio Revised Code 3319.08 (Supplemental), 3313.53 (Pupil Activity), and the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Granville Exempted Village Schools Board of Education and the Granville Education Association, Article 20. By applying for this position, the applicant agrees that they possess or will obtain the appropriate license or pupil activity permit prior to the first date of activity with students. Failure to complete or maintain the appropriate credential may result in the forfeiture or termination of the supplemental or pupil activity contract.
