About The Position

Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts (CSLA) is seeking a Non-Faculty/Classified High School Basketball Assistant Coach. CSLA is a Paideia Magnet school serving grades K-12. Lifelong learning, academics, and citizenship are top priorities. Applicants should demonstrate a passion for learning, a commitment to continuous improvement, and an interest in applying Paideia principles. As students come from diverse backgrounds via a lottery system, extracurricular activities are crucial for connection. Applicants must be willing to support students in areas beyond academics, including clubs and athletics.

Requirements

• Completion of NFHS “Fundamentals of Coaching”
• Completion of NFHS “First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches”
• Completion of "NFHS Heat Illness Prevention" course annually
• Completion of NFHS COVID-19 Course

Nice To Haves

• Interest in learning about and applying Paideia principles to planning and instructional practices.
• Willingness to support students beyond academic offerings, including clubs and/or athletics.

Responsibilities

• Complete NFHS “Fundamentals of Coaching” and “First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches” courses prior to assuming the position (exceptions for those who completed ASEP prior to May 15, 2013).
• Ensure copies of concussion certificates are on file annually with the School Level AD.
• Ensure copies of Sudden Cardiac Arrest certificates are on file annually with the School Level AD.
• Ensure copies of "Fundamentals of Coaching" are on file when applicable.
• Ensure copies of "First Aid, Health, & Safety" are on file when applicable.
• Complete the NFHS Heat Illness Prevention course annually and ensure a copy is on file.
• Complete the NFHS COVID-19 Course and ensure a copy is on file.
