Requirements

  • Completion of the NFHS “Fundamentals of Coaching” course.
  • Completion of the NFHS “First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches” course.
  • Maintain a copy of the concussion certificate on file every year.
  • Maintain a copy of the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certificate on file every year.
  • Completion of the NFHS Heat Illness Prevention course.
  • Completion of the NFHS COVID-19 Course.

Nice To Haves

  • Coaches who have successfully completed the ASEP Coaches Education Course prior to May 15, 2013.

Responsibilities

  • Non-faculty Coaches and Classified Employee Coaches must complete the NFHS “Fundamentals of Coaching” and “First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches” courses prior to assuming the position.
  • Coaches who have successfully completed the ASEP Coaches Education Course prior to May 15, 2013, will not be required to take the NFHS courses.
  • School Level AD should keep concussion Certificate- Copy on file every year.
  • School Level AD should keep Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certificate- Copy on file every year.
  • When applicable, completion of "Fundamentals of Coaching"- Copy on file.
  • When applicable, completion of "First Aid, Health, & Safety"- Copy on file.
  • When applicable, completion of “NFHS Heat Illness Prevention” course- Copy on file every year.
  • All Coaches must complete the NFHS COVID-19 Course.
