About The Position

Ooltewah Middle School is a 6-8 school located in Ooltewah, TN, just outside of Chattanooga. Teachers at Ooltewah Middle can expect a supportive and collaborative climate, including the following supports: New Teacher Academy led by our instructional coach, which meets monthly to discuss ideas and solutions. Mentor teacher for new teachers. Every teacher is a member of a grade level team, and each core teacher has a content partner that meets for collaborative planning weekly. Instructional Coach who provides job-embedded professional development. Ooltewah Middle School has a strong Fine Arts Program. We believe that students need to have multiple opportunities and outlets to express themselves in different ways. We are looking for teaching candidates who are able to develop strong relationships with a diverse group of students, parents, and staff. Requirements

• Completion of NFHS “Fundamentals of Coaching”
• Completion of NFHS “First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches”
• Completion of “NFHS Heat Illness Prevention” course
• Completion of NFHS COVID-19 Course
• Copy of Concussion Certificate on file every year
• Copy of Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certificate on file every year

Nice To Haves

• ASEP Coaches Education Course completed prior to May 15, 2013

Responsibilities

• Non-faculty Coaches and Classified Employee Coaches must complete the NFHS “Fundamentals of Coaching” and “First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches” courses prior to assuming the position.
• Coaches who have successfully completed the ASEP Coaches Education Course prior to May 15, 2013, will not be required to take the NFHS courses.
• School Level AD should keep concussion Certificate- Copy on file every year.
• School Level AD should keep Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certificate- Copy on file every year.
• When applicable, completion of "Fundamentals of Coaching"- Copy on file.
• When applicable, completion of "First Aid, Health, & Safety"- Copy on file.
• When applicable, completion of “NFHS Heat Illness Prevention” course- Copy on file every year.
• All Coaches must complete the NFHS COVID-19 Course.
