About The Position

Boston College High School is seeking a Head Varsity Volleyball Coach. The coach will report directly to the Athletic Director and is expected to bring an extensive volleyball background, a commitment to character formation, and support for the school’s mission and the Athletic Department’s values of hard work, humility, respect, and teamwork. Boston College High School is a Catholic, Jesuit, independent school serving young men in grades 7–12 from communities across Massachusetts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Extensive volleyball background.
• Experience working with athletes in grades 9–12.
• Ability to organize, execute, and lead daily practices.
• Ability to manage staff and work well with colleagues at the school.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with student-athletes from diverse backgrounds.
• Commitment to character formation, the school’s mission, and the Athletic Department’s values.

Nice To Haves

• Head Coach experience.

Responsibilities

• Organize, lead, and execute daily practice plans.
• Lead and develop assistant coaches.
• Serve as a positive mentor to student-athletes.
• Develop strong, healthy relationships with athletes, assistant coaches, athletic trainers, strength and conditioning coaches, and members of the BC High community.
• Manage one assistant coach and work with sub-varsity coaches on the JV program.
• Provide a healthy, inclusive, and safe environment.
