About The Position

United Way of Central Oregon is seeking a dedicated and compassionate HRSN Housing Stability Coordinator to join our Housing Stability team. The Health-Related Social Needs (HRSN) Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting a team of HRSN Housing Stability Managers who work to improve housing stability by disbursing HRSN benefits to support with rent, utility assistance, and tenancy services for members of the Oregon Health Plan in Central Oregon. This position requires strong collaborative, organizational, and interpersonal skills as the incumbent will collaborate with the point persons within PacificSource, the Coordinated Care Organization for this program. Excellent communication abilities are essential, must possess a strong commitment to racial equity, and be experienced at delivering trauma informed care. Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable populations and engaging using a whole person approach to service delivery. Must be well-informed of community-based resources in the various counties in Central Oregon. Having strong connections to underserved communities in the area is preferred.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of experience working with underserved communities and individuals experiencing housing instability or homelessness.
  • Strong knowledge of housing resources and programs in the Central Oregon area.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to manage multiple and sometimes competing tasks with efficiency.
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
  • Experience utilizing a racial equity lens and working with communities of color.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Must be able to meet specific deadlines and make appropriate adjustments to changing circumstances as necessary.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and be flexible in your approach to change.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in human services, general studies or another related field preferred; equivalent education, work, and lived experience will be considered to offset Degree.
  • Experience or trained as an OHP Assistor or Community Health Worker is a plus.
  • Understanding of Landlord/Tenant Laws, Fair Housing practices, Housing First modalities, and providing Trauma Informed Care is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support in the coordination of services between members, their Housing Stability Managers, landlords, and property managers.
  • Collaborate with HRSN Housing Stability Managers to access referral requests and confirm eligibility for the HRSN program.
  • Participate in the assessment of a member’s housing needs, utilizing a Housing Stability Matrix, to identify additional areas of support and needed resources to maintain housing.
  • Provide information and identify relevant resources in the community to help address household needs, including providing warm hand-offs to other community-based organizations.
  • Support Housing Stability Managers with collecting documentation from landlords and property management companies.
  • Communicate with landlords to inform them about the HRSN program, services available, and support members will receive to help them remain housed.
  • Support tenants with locating resources to improve housing stability and be familiar with tenant rights or resourceful enough to locate and utilize them to help inform tenants and support them with advocacy to increase housing stability.
  • Utilize Unite Us, a closed-looped referral platform, to accept and assign incoming referrals.
  • Provide data input and maintain quality control measures for data entered by the team.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.
  • Collaborate effectively across both HRSN teams at United Way Central Oregon (Bend) and United Way of the Columbia Willamette (Portland Metro).
  • Participate in community outreach activities, as assigned, to help raise awareness about the HRSN program and enroll potential members into the program.
