About The Position

Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) is seeking a Lead HR Systems Assistant to support the Human Resources department. This role will assist with the development, management, and enhancement of HR and payroll systems, and provide lead direction to HR System Assistants. The position involves managing HR data dashboards, reports, and analysis to ensure key metrics are met. The Lead HR Systems Assistant will contribute to a student learning-centered HR Department by collaborating with organizational stakeholders, aligning with ASI’s guiding principles.

Requirements

  • 6 credits in human resources, information systems, systems management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in system support.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret data, identify trends, and produce statistical reports.
  • Working knowledge of human resources functions, procedures, and systems.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques to evaluate human resources challenges and understand/apply rules and regulations.
  • Ability to understand problems and learn objectives from a broad perspective when dealing with human resources systems, resolving sensitive problems with a focus on automation.
  • Knowledge and ability to develop and implement effective and efficient processes, procedures, and solutions.
  • Ability to plan, direct, and review a variety of activities and meet important deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze financial and statistical data and prepare comprehensive compensation financial reports with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to change priorities when needed to meet changing and overlapping deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with diverse student, staff, and management in a courteous manner with emphasis on customer service.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the proven ability to guide others in a highly collaborative manner.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships within a diverse multicultural environment.
  • Technical fluency with computer skills using standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and databases.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of human resource information system (HRIS) software systems.
  • Knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, CSU and ASI policies and procedures.
  • General knowledge of the principles of personnel management.
  • Knowledge of customer service standards and ability to create policies and procedures as well as motivate, train, and ensure staff provide quality service to all stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and provide direction to HR Systems Assistants.
  • Oversee accurate and timely data entry into current and future HR information system software.
  • Assist with the development, documentation, and implementation of user training manuals, system guidelines, and regular communications of HRIS processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop, implement, and manage HR data dashboards, reports, and analysis, ensuring key organizational and departmental metrics are attained.
  • Identify HR-related themes through data and present findings and recommendations.
  • Ensure accurate data entry into the HRIS system for position changes, additional positions, pay rate changes, and separations, including manual check requests.
  • Provide various reports for decision-making and audits.
  • Assist with the implementation, rollout, and training for new and existing HR systems.
  • Assist with ongoing system maintenance, updates, and problem-solving for end-users.
  • Oversee monthly reports and quarterly ASI headcount reports, taking appropriate action as needed.
  • Maintain an inclusive department environment by providing exceptional customer service.
  • Stay updated on current human resources technology, trends, and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Actively engage as an organizational leader in ASI team learning, training, and meetings.
  • Role model ASI core values and challenge mental models as an active learner.
  • Attend all ASI required trainings, including annual all-staff and department retreats.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
