This role participates in the recruitment, screening, and hiring program for all center staff. It involves coordinating and implementing the New Employee Orientation (NEO) program, assisting in the preparation of contractually required reports, and overseeing candidate background checks and other compliance documentation. The HR Specialist will also prepare and extend job offers, administer the recruitment program, and ensure compliance with all contractual requirements related to human resources. Key duties include maintaining organized HR files, processing paperwork for new hires and terminations, assisting with benefits enrollment and orientation, and performing general HR administrative and clerical duties. The role also emphasizes clear communication, modeling appropriate skills, maintaining accountability, adhering to safety practices, and fostering a harassment-free environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One-year related experience required.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • A valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in recruitment, screening and hiring program for all center staff.
  • Completes applicant for hire/promotion approval paperwork and sends to Corporate HR for approval.
  • Coordinates and implements New Employee Orientation (NEO) program and ensures attendance by all new staff within the required PRH guidelines.
  • Assists in preparation of all reports required by contract.
  • Oversees/monitors candidate background checks and other compliancy documentation in hiring process.
  • Prepares and makes job offers to applicants.
  • Administers recruitment, screening and hiring program for all center staff.
  • Ensures compliance with all contractual requirements relative to the human resources function.
  • Maintains up-to-date and organized HR files, e.g., confidential, personnel, medical, training, I-9, driver’s license, and insurance paperwork.
  • Assists with processing paperwork for new hires and terminations, including retirement report and forms when applicable.
  • Assists with conducting benefits enrollment and orientation for new employees and informing new employees of available insurance benefits, procedures, etc.
  • Performs HR administrative and clerical duties, answer phones, receive visitors to office; provide job information to applicants.
  • Clearly communicates and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills.
  • Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property.
  • Adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
  • Fosters and sustains a conducive environment at the center, ensuring it remains free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect, thereby ensuring a safe space for both staff and students to engage in work and learning.
