About The Position

Huntsman is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR & Site Operations Specialist to support our Los Angeles site within the Advanced Materials Division. This role is crucial for maintaining a compliant, efficient, and well-run operation by supporting HR processes and coordinating critical site activities. Reporting to the HR Manager, the specialist will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Production, EHS, Supply Chain, and Site Leadership. The position focuses on execution, coordination, and process support, offering an opportunity for growth into broader HR responsibilities over time. It is ideal for someone early in their HR career looking to build a strong foundation and develop into a future HR Generalist.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in HR support, administrative coordination, or similar role
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions
  • Maintain professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with SAP, Ariba, or similar procurement systems
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments

Responsibilities

  • Support adherence to company policies and federal, California, and local labor requirements
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in compliance with legal and company standards
  • Assist with payroll review processes to support accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies
  • Coordinate onboarding compliance, including completion of required documentation and training
  • Support audits, reporting, and documentation to ensure compliance readiness
  • Provide administrative support for EHS programs, training coordination, and site compliance initiatives
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding, orientation, and employee set-up to ensure a smooth and compliant start
  • Serve as a first point of contact for general HR inquiries, escalating issues as appropriate
  • Support leave of absence tracking and benefits-related coordination
  • Assist with employee engagement activities, training sessions, and site communications
  • Maintain professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Coordinate purchasing requests across departments including Production, Warehouse, and Maintenance
  • Create and track purchase orders in systems such as SAP or Ariba, ensuring timely follow-up
  • Liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies, returns, and invoicing issues
  • Support reconciliation processes (P-card, Concur, vendor invoices) to ensure accuracy
  • Maintain organized records to support audit readiness and financial tracking
  • Provide coordination support across Production, Quality, EHS, Supply Chain, and Maintenance
  • Maintain and organize production and site documentation, ensuring proper record retention
  • Respond to site requests and provide administrative support to maintain smooth operations
  • Assist with process documentation and closure activities as needed
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings, trainings, and site events, including scheduling and catering
  • Support employee engagement activities such as team events and recognition efforts
  • Ensure conference rooms and shared spaces are organized, stocked, and ready for use
  • Manage office and site supply inventory, ensuring timely ordering and cost awareness
  • Serve as a point of contact for general administrative needs and site coordination
  • Support additional site initiatives and administrative needs as required
  • Builds strong working relationships across HR and site teams
  • Demonstrates understanding of payroll, onboarding, and procurement processes
  • Maintains accurate records and completes assigned tasks reliably
  • Consistently supports payroll accuracy and onboarding compliance with minimal oversight
  • Procurement and vendor coordination processes run smoothly and on time
  • Identifies opportunities to improve organization, tracking, or administrative efficiency
  • Recognized as a reliable and responsive point of coordination across departments
  • Contributes to improved compliance, organization, and overall site efficiency
  • Begins supporting more complex HR activities with guidance (employee relations documentation, policy application, process ownership)
