About The Position

The Recruiter/Onboarding Specialist (ROS) leads and performs recruitment, maintains a quality applicant pipeline, hires, and onboards Direct Support workers. The ROS follows all processes set in place to ensure that the new hire experience is positive. The ROS follows up with new hires throughout their initial site training and communicates with the Supervisor to confirm that the new hire is a good fit for OMI. The ROS maintains a positive, energetic, and upbeat presence that maximizes employee engagement and retention. Various other tasks will be assigned as required. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Obtain and maintain acceptable clearance of the DHS Background Study.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License with acceptable record under insurance guidelines to be able to drive for the organization.
  • Reasoning ability to solve practical problems, deal with a variety of variables in situations, work independently, and interpret instructions both written and verbal.

Nice To Haves

  • One to three years of related experience, preferably in an HR Department.
  • Associate’s Degree with coursework related to the role.

Responsibilities

  • Actively and creatively reaches out in the community as the employee brand ambassador for OMI. Ensures that the OMI name is known for favorable employment opportunities. Spends two days per week out hanging hiring flyers, talking to people, and networking. This is a hands-on recruitment role, not a desk job. Although online recruitment is a part of the role, the majority of time spent needs to be interacting with people.
  • Maintains a continuous applicant pipeline for all positions.
  • Completes all contingent offer, new hire, and onboarding paperwork per laws, rules, policies and regulations.
  • Maintains applicant tracking for the Affirmative Action Plan and EEO reporting.
  • Conducts new hire orientation, both classroom style and individual.
  • Goes to sites to check-in with staff, frequent face-to-face interaction with Direct Support staff. Provides on-the -spot correction and direction as needed.
  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with Supervisors, Managers, and Directors to stay up to date on staffing needs and to know the Organization and sites well to best assign home sites to new hires.
  • Keeps all employee and organization information confidential and protected.
  • Tracks and reports on various HR metrics.
  • Understands and maintains compliance with: local, state, and federal regulations for all human resources practices, OMI policies and procedures, and HR best practices.
  • Participates in Organizational events and activities.
  • Professionally represents the Organization and department or site to current employees, volunteers, vendors and community.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
  • Observes all company policies, rules, and safety practices.
  • Performs other duties within the Human Resource/Administration department or other areas as assigned.
