About The Position

Summary To meet the challenges of the university’s continued growth and expansion, HR Platforms (HRIS) is looking for a qualified candidate who will contribute to the support and continued enhancements of Workday HCM. This is a hybrid position; required to be ON CAMPUS Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (Wednesday is remote). The ideal candidate will serve as a functional liaison between Human Resources, Finance, Payroll, Information Technology, and university stakeholders to support HR systems, business processes, operational improvements, and user experience initiatives. This role is responsible for partnering with HR functional teams and customers across colleges and divisions to identify business needs, support system functionality, document processes, and improve operational effectiveness through Workday configuration while ensuring compliance with university policies and regulatory requirements. The qualified candidate will be responsible for leading functional solutions, providing project management oversight and executing on all phases of the project life cycle, including project planning and communication. In addition, the candidate will assist with planning and execution of the testing efforts including development of test cases, coordination between technical and business resources, and documentation of the testing results. In addition, the candidate will participate in change management activities including developing training materials and providing system support. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships and provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. To ensure that essential services are provided to the university community, the employee will be required to work outside their regular working hours as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Human Resources, Technology, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, and/or HR technology support.
  • Experience supporting and administering Workday HCM, including business process analysis, testing, troubleshooting, and end-user support.
  • Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and system implementation practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze business processes, identify operational challenges, and recommend effective solutions.
  • Experience developing and executing test plans, test cases, and user acceptance testing activities.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and relationship management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and functional teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze Workday HCM system requirements and identify problems, gather requirements, research options, and recommend solutions.
  • Determine user needs, identify changes and enhancements.
  • Identify and assess solution options.
  • Document required system modifications.
  • Analyze data to inform problems.

  • Document as-is and to-be process flows.
  • Identify gaps in operational business processes, as well as document business process improvements and flow diagrams.

  • Coordinate and implement solutions.
  • Act as the liaison between Business, Developers, Project Managers and 3rd party vendors.
  • Configure solutions in Workday HCM.
  • Document mapping requirements for interfaces with internal and 3rd party solutions.
  • Work closely with developers to ensure requirements and design are completely understood.
  • Develop and coordinate test plans, test scripts, facilitate and participate in User Acceptance Testing.
  • Ensure deliverables align with business requirements with measurable results and drive positive results.
  • Participate in the creation of training materials and the delivery of training.
  • Effectively resolve problems and roadblocks before they occur.
  • Facilitate project meetings.
  • Perform ad-hoc project management activities.
  • Provide support on application solutions.
  • Work with users to troubleshoot issues.
  • Coordinate with appropriate resources to resolve issues.
  • Update applicable documentation.
  • Communicate resolution to appropriate parties.
