About The Position

The Human Resources/Payroll Coordinator provides support to community management in payroll processing, benefits administration, and employee relations. Key responsibilities include daily review and bi-weekly transmission of employee timecards for payroll, processing community invoices for Accounts Payable, and preparing and maintaining accurate, compliant, and confidential employee personnel and payroll files. The role also involves assisting with recruitment and retention efforts, administering annual benefits and performance evaluations, and addressing routine employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, personnel policies, and employment openings. The coordinator supports managers in coaching and counseling employees, helps implement company-sponsored events and programs, and promotes the 'Committed to Excellence' culture. Further duties include assisting the Administrator with 'Right Start to Excellence' orientation and coordinating continuing education with the Administrator and Director of Nursing. The position requires investigating employee grievances, processing unemployment claims, and functioning as a leader and department head within the community, with a responsibility for patient/resident safety.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma is required
  • Previous experience within HR functions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with employees
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent organization and prioritizing skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language

Nice To Haves

  • A college degree is preferred or equivalent coursework
  • Knowledge of various timekeeping systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Review employee timecards daily for accuracy and transmit timecards bi-weekly to payroll for processing
  • Process all invoices for the community to Accounts payable
  • Prepare and maintain all employee personnel and payroll files assuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality
  • Assist in the management of all recruitment and retention efforts
  • Assist in the administration of annual benefits and performance evaluations
  • Assist employees with routine inquiries concerning payroll, benefits, personnel policies, employment openings
  • Provide support to managers in coaching and counseling employees
  • Assist in implementation of all company sponsored events/programs for employees
  • Promotes Committed to Excellence culture through the Community
  • Assist Administrator in conducting Right Start to Excellence orientation
  • Assist the Administrator and Director of Nursing in scheduling/coordinating continuing education as deemed necessary
  • Investigate any grievance filed by an employee and recommend resolution
  • Process all unemployment claims to TWC including hearings
  • Function as a leader within the Community as a department head
  • Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety
  • Other duties as assigned by the Administrator
