Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting or payroll administration;
  • Working knowledge of payroll tax concepts and compliance requirements;
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills;
  • Excellent organization skills with a high level of attention to detail;
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and process a high volume of work while maintaining the highest standards;
  • Ability to analyze and resolve payroll issues;
  • Willingness to proactively identify issues and recommend solutions;
  • Ability to work independently as well as a desire to work in a team environment;
  • Appetite to learn and a willingness to get involved in developing professional experience with all aspects of payroll and benefit processes and ad hoc projects;
  • Demonstration of a high level of integrity, discretion, accountability and professionalism;
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment;
  • ADP WFN knowledge required;

Responsibilities

  • Coordination with third party payroll providers and our internal payroll processor to ensure accurate and timely semi-monthly and monthly payroll output;
  • Responsible for reviewing data in ADP WFN;
  • Reconcile payroll output to supporting documentation to ensure all domestic payrolls are correct and obtain proper internal authorization;
  • Coordination with International Payroll team to ensure accuracy of shadow payroll;
  • Coordination with Compensation and Equity teams to ensure accurate payroll processing of RSUs, dividends, year end bonus;
  • Coordination with Tax team to ensure accurate compensation reporting on Form K-1s;
  • Review and reconcile payroll journal entries to ensure payroll is properly recorded to the general ledger;
  • Support payroll amendments for repayments by preparing and recording the related general ledger (GL) journal entries, and tracking amounts owed to/from tax authorities resulting from those amendments;
  • Review ADP wire confirmations and invoices, reconciling them to payrolls and amendments processed;
  • Review notices received from tax authorities, investigating and reconciling as needed;
  • Review and reconcile cash entries with the Finance team, identifying and resolving cash breaks in a timely manner;
  • Assist with year end compliance and reporting;
  • Review payroll processes and procedures; make changes as needed while ensuring adequate controls are in place and followed; recommend improvements;
  • Thoroughly document procedures to ensure steps are completed accurately and consistently;
  • Responsible for responding to audit and regulatory inquiries as it relates to Payroll, including managing the annual 401(k) and Workers’ Compensation audits; SOX testing and external audit requests as they relate to Payroll;
  • Stay abreast of changes in tax and compliance regulations applicable to employees/employers and assess impact to the payroll processes;
  • Support the Benefits Manager by ensuring employee benefits deductions (e.g., health, retirement, other elections) are set up, updated and processed accurately in payroll, including for new enrollments and terminations;
  • Answer employee queries related to payroll and benefits deductions.
