About The Position

This role is responsible for managing employee relations across multiple warehouse and operations sites. The HR Manager will serve as the primary HR contact, coaching leaders on performance issues, conducting investigations, ensuring multi-state compliance, and overseeing HR operations such as onboarding, attendance, leave administration, and workers' compensation. The position also supports workforce planning, retention, engagement, and building supervisor capabilities. Additionally, the HR Manager will be instrumental in establishing HR functions for new sites, including developing a repeatable site-launch playbook.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience
  • 3+ years supporting a large hourly workforce in warehouse, distribution, logistics, or manufacturing
  • Track record of conducting workplace investigations and managing employee relations cases
  • Solid working knowledge of California employment law (wage and hour, leaves, Cal/OSHA)
  • Experience applying employment law requirements across multiple states
  • Hands-on experience with leave administration, the ADA interactive process, and workers' compensation coordination
  • Proficiency with HRIS and timekeeping systems
  • Strong documentation and reporting habits
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience

Nice To Haves

  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification
  • Experience opening a new facility or leading HR for a site launch
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
  • E-commerce fulfillment experience, including managing staffing agencies through peak season

Responsibilities

  • Own employee relations across all sites, serving as the primary HR contact for associates, leads, supervisors, and site managers.
  • Coach leaders through performance issues, corrective action, and separations to ensure consistency, documentation, and defensibility.
  • Lead workplace investigations into complaints of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, safety concerns, and policy violations.
  • Ensure multi-state compliance with federal and state requirements, including California meal/rest break, overtime, leave rules, Cal/OSHA, and workplace violence prevention.
  • Oversee onboarding and I-9/E-Verify, attendance policy administration, leave of absence and ADA interactive process, workers' compensation coordination, and offboarding.
  • Partner with operations on headcount planning, peak-season ramp-up, and oversight of staffing agency partners.
  • Analyze turnover and absenteeism, lead stay and exit interviews, and implement targeted engagement and recognition programs.
  • Train frontline supervisors and leads on documentation, fair treatment, and escalation, and ensure completion of required trainings.
  • Lead the HR workstream for new site launches, including hiring plans, state registrations, policy addenda, and coordination with Payroll/HRIS and Benefits.
  • Build a repeatable site-launch playbook for future locations.
