About The Position

Interstate Group is seeking an experienced HR Manager, Stores & Corporate to lead human resources support for the Company’s retail store operations and corporate departments. This hands-on leadership role will partner with the Head of HR, senior leadership, payroll, benefits, and operational teams to create and execute HR strategy, support business performance, and promote a high-performance workplace culture. The position will oversee compensation analysis, employee relations, policy development, workforce reporting, and multi-state employment compliance across a 35-state retail footprint.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years supporting a multi-state retail, manufacturing, or distributed workforce.
  • Experience managing compensation programs, including benchmarking methodology, market analysis, and budget alignment.
  • Strong employee relations experience, including workplace investigations and performance management.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate workforce data into actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Experience developing HR proposals that require business justification and cross-functional alignment.
  • Working knowledge of federal and multi-state employment requirements, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA, and Title VII.
  • Proficiency with ADP.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
  • Direct supervisory experience managing HR staff in a multi-site organization.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR business partner for retail store operations and corporate departments.
  • Lead the compensation review process, including market benchmarking, budget modeling, and written recommendations supported by data and analysis.
  • Manage employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary actions, performance management, and related documentation.
  • Develop, update, and maintain HR policies and standard operating procedures for a multi-state retail environment.
  • Monitor and support compliance with federal and state employment requirements, including wage and hour, leave, anti-discrimination, and workplace safety laws.
  • Present process improvements and HR initiatives with a written business case, cost analysis, and implementation plan.
  • Partner with payroll and benefits teams on compensation changes, onboarding, and offboarding.
  • Prepare regular reports and analysis concerning headcount, turnover, compensation trends, and other workforce metrics.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional partners to align HR priorities with business objectives.
  • Provide direct supervision and support to HR staff as the team develops.
