About The Position

Capital Medical Group, a newly acquired physician practice group within Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, is seeking an experienced Temporary Human Resources Generalist to support the Human Resources Department for an assignment of up to 10 weeks. This role provides essential day-to-day HR support to a large, multi-specialty medical practice serving patients across the Washington, DC area and the DMV. As the largest multi-specialty physician practice in the region, we support more than 50 medical and surgical specialties through a network of hospitals and care locations, including GW Hospital, Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center, GW Urgent Care, and affiliated sites throughout the DMV. The Temporary Human Resources Generalist will provide a broad range of HR support across multiple functions, including employee relations, performance management, HR systems administration, employee engagement, new employee orientation, reporting, leave administration, ADA support, and responses to employee inquiries. This role also supports the HR Manager with market standardization and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is resourceful, flexible, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment where priorities can shift quickly. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution required.
  • 3-5 years previous experience in HR Generalist role.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; solid HR generalist skills, including experience in recruitment, compensation, employee relations, and employment law.
  • Strong prioritization, problem solving, organizational skills, critical thinking, and leadership skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of the HR standards and guidelines for Joint Commission, Wage & Hour, ADA, FMLA, Employment Laws, Civil Rights, and HR policies and procedures and handbook.
  • High level of proficiency with HRIS (preferably Lawson), Performance Management and Applicant Tracking systems required.
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint to include email, spreadsheets, database entry, and use of various of office equipment- PC, copier, printer, scanner.
  • Interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative environment.
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
  • Strong customer relations/customer complaint resolution skills required.
  • Must maintain high level of confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HR support to CMG HR Operations and CMG service line leaders.
  • Support performance management, employee engagement, new employee orientation, reporting, and HR systems administration.
  • Administer leave of absence processes, including FMLA, ADA, return-to-work, and other leave-related matters.
  • Offer guidance on policy interpretation, investigations, and dispute resolution procedures.
  • Complete Personnel Action Forms and Lawson record updates to support smooth employee lifecycle transactions.
  • Assist with process improvement, standardization, and HR project implementation in alignment with operational goals.
  • Respond to employee questions and provide timely, professional HR support.
  • Perform data entry, data analysis, and other administrative tasks as assigned.
