About The Position

Carpenter Co has an immediate opening for a Human Resources Generalist at our Russellville, Kentucky manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for assisting with day-to-day operations and functions within the Human Resources department, primarily hourly recruiting, and payroll processing. We’re looking for an HR Generalist who brings both heart and precision to the people side of the business. This role supports the HR Manager, empowers employees, and ensuring that our core HR processes are completed accurately. You’ll not only be responsible for the accurate processing of time and attendance and assisting with benefits administration, but you’ll also be a trusted guide in the employee experience.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Human Resource, Organizational Development or related discipline
3+ years of prior human resources and/or payroll experience preferred
Experience using an HRIS; UKG preferred
Strong attention to detail paired with big-picture thinking.
Excellent communication skills—clear, kind, and confident.
A love for process improvement and people-centered solutions.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and care.

Responsibilities

Oversee timekeeping systems and processes to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll inputs.
Partner with managers to resolve attendance issues.
Continuously improve processes to make time tracking simple, clear, and employee-friendly.
Serve as a go-to resource for employees navigating benefits questions and life changes.
Lead open enrollment and benefits communications that are clear, warm, and easy to understand.
Manage full-cycle recruiting for assigned roles, from posting to offer.
Partner with leaders to understand plant needs and translate them into great hires.
Create candidate experiences that feel personal, organized, and welcoming.
Design and deliver onboarding that is warm, efficient, and engaging.
Ensure new hires feel prepared, connected, and confident from day one.
Partner with managers to create strong first impressions and lasting engagement.
Continuously refine onboarding to reflect feedback and business needs.
Support managers with coaching employees regarding time and attendance.
Contribute to HR initiatives that strengthen culture, retention, and performance.
Balance compliance, compassion, and business needs in every decision.
