About The Position

Found Rental Co. is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to manage and support a wide-range of human resource and administrative functions across the company. This role is essential to creating an exceptional employee experience, from the moment a candidate applies to their first day, through their growth and, when the time comes, their transition out of the company. This role requires strong working knowledge of California labor law, hands-on experience with HRIS and payroll systems, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with grace. Requirements

  • 3-4 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist role or similar role
  • Strong, working knowledge of California labor laws, wage and hour regulations, and employment compliance requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS and payroll platforms (UKG, ADP, Paychex, etc.)
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maturity, upholding integrity.
  • Proven ability to foster a positive, team-oriented culture rooted in collaboration.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to build trust and rapport across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution and change management.

Responsibilities

  • Write compelling, on-brand job postings and manage applicant flow through recruiting platforms.
  • Conduct first-round screening interviews and evaluate candidates against role criteria and cultural fit.
  • Coordinate and track background checks and drug screening processes in compliance with California law.
  • Facilitate WOTC (Work Opportunity Tax Credit) documentation for eligible new hires.
  • Maintain accurate applicant tracking records and provide timely communication to candidates through the hiring process.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to refine job descriptions, establish interview criteria, and improve the overall candidate experience.
  • Assist with semi-monthly or bi-weekly payroll processing, including garnishments, employee loans, retro pay adjustments, and prevailing wage calculations.
  • Monitor and maintain vacation and sick leave accrual records.
  • Respond to employee inquiries with accuracy and clarity.
  • Support the formal pay raise process by preparing documentation, routing approvals through managers and the GM, and updating records upon final approval.
  • Respond to Employment Development Department (EDD) claims and coordinate all required unemployment documentation.
  • Maintain payroll history records and assist the finance team with payroll reporting as needed.
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential employee files and records in accordance with California recordkeeping requirements.
  • Assist the Human Resources Manager with HR related questions, concerns, and/or guidance - connecting employees with the right resources.
  • Assist with full-cycle offboarding, including resignation documentation, termination letters, final pay processing, and COBRA notifications.
  • Ensure consistent application of and compliance with company policies, California state labor laws, and federal employment regulations.
  • Assist managers in navigating employee performance conversations, disciplinary documentation, and corrective action processes.
  • Escalate complex employee relations matters to the Human Resources Manager.
  • Prepare weekly intercompany transfers and detailed payroll cost breakdowns for leadership.
  • Assist in uploading 401(k) employee contribution data and coordinate plan administration and reporting with John Hancock.
  • Identify opportunities to improve administrative workflows and bring forward solutions.
  • Assist with the John Hancock retirement plan census reporting and perform or support Safe Harbor year-end calculations.
  • Assist with ACA (Affordable Care Act) reporting and annual W-2 review and distribution.
  • Lead the Open Enrollment process from start to finish, including employee communications, deadline management, carrier coordination, and election reconciliation.
  • Stay current on changes to California and federal employment law and proactively communicate updates to leadership.
