About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resources Department including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits, payroll, compensation, and training in a fast-paced, evolving manufacturing environment. The Human Resources Generalist will partner with managers and their teams to support their human resource related needs. This position operates under minimal guidance from management or senior staff. The Human Resources Generalist ensures ProMed’s brand, philosophy, systems, policies, and procedures are properly implemented and observed. This position is temporary. Begins with part time 20-24 hours weekly until fall, then full time hours until the end of February/beginning of March.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or five (5) years related experience
  • At least two (2) years experience in human resources field
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Professional, courteous, and friendly personality
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Experience working with HRIS and AT systems
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Clearly conveys ideas and receives information effectively
  • Ability to communicate in Hmong or Spanish (speak, read, write)
  • Self-starter with a proven ability to successfully work with minimal supervision
  • Working knowledge of Hmong language (verbal and written)
  • PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP a plus

Responsibilities

  • Recruits, schedules and participates (as appropriate) in interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions
  • Implements and conducts new hire on-boarding
  • Implements and conducts off-boarding, including conducting exit interviews as necessary
  • Performs daily tasks to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; recruiting and hiring
  • Provides support to the entire HR team as well as management, and other staff, particularly with complex and sensitive issues.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • In cooperation with the HR Manager, creates and revises job descriptions and competencies.
  • Identifies and implements a comprehensive education plan to continually advance technical skills and personal development as well as enhancing organizational effectiveness.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law, on a federal and state level, including Puerto Rico.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
