Requirements

  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practice of human resource management.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local employment law.
  • Demonstrated ability to professionally and effectively interact and communicate both verbally and written, with all levels within an organization.
  • A demeanor that exudes a pleasant and professional manner when dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Work experience that has developed a superior ability to maintain professionalism and tact when under pressure and/or juggling priorities.
  • An understanding of the ethics and requirements of maintaining confidentiality as appropriate in a variety of circumstances and scenarios.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions and, when applicable, collaborate with others to come to a consensus and/or solution.
  • Willing and able to be flexible with work hours in order to carry out the responsibilities of the position.
  • Capacity to provide leadership in a partnership environment, which fosters effective teamwork in meeting the mission of Oakwood Village.
  • Presents one’s passion for HR in all interactions, activities, and projects.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years in a professional human resources role demonstrating progressive HR experience.
  • SHRM Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and with HRIS Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and encourages a culture and working environment where staff members thrive.
  • Builds internal and external relationships which support HR and organizational goals.
  • Manages and implements full-cycle recruiting to include promoting, posting, screening, reference checks, hiring, drug testing, orientation, and HRIS and other hiring system entry.
  • Partners with the hiring manager to identify qualified applicants and control the hiring process.
  • Drives, promotes, and supports all employee recognition and appreciation programs and activities including the campus-wide staff member events and assigned business-unit events.
  • Establishes a reputation of a trusted advisor through interaction with staff members within the assigned business units and responds timely and effectively to employee inquiries, issues, and concerns.
  • Establishes and cultivates a consultative relationship with supervisors and managers regarding staff member disciplinary action, company policies, procedures, and practices, collective bargaining agreement and employment laws and regulations.
  • Conducts stay and exit interviews with staff members to capture data for identifying trends and action items to address.
  • Tracks and maintains the staff member incident/injury reporting, works with worker’s compensation to provide the necessary information.
  • Completes annual OSHA reporting.
  • Support HR department cross-functional tasks and projects to include compensation, benefits, payroll administration and electronic time management.
  • Completes all mandatory trainings as assigned in the LMS by required due date.
  • Participates in and attend onsite and offsite meetings, conferences, seminars, webinars, etc. to assure professional development.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, procedures, etc. to affect continual improvements and efficiencies of assigned business units and within the HR department.
  • Enthusiastically accepts and completes all other duties and special projects as assigned.
