HR Furnace/Relief Operator 1st &2nd shift $17-$23 DOE
About The Position
The HR Furnace/Relief Operator performs a variety of operational functions that constitute the production, inspection, and distribution of products or services for customers. This role involves operating a semi-automated furnace for heat-treating high-pressure cylinders, working in a hot environment, and reacting quickly to correct problems with automated material handling equipment. The operator must follow heat treat operating procedures, monitor furnace operations, identify cylinders, and stamp heat lot codes on treated cylinders. This position also involves performing and relieving Furnace Load Operator, Furnace Operator, and Furnace Off-load Operator roles.
Requirements
- Must possess an education or experience level that permits the employee to effectively communicate and perform duties, assignments and responsibilities of the job.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents relating to the job, function or assignment.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical equations.
- Ability to make decisions when identifying in-process problems.
- Ability to deal with a variety of job assignments.
- Willing to work in a hot environment.
- Willingness to work overtime when needed.
Responsibilities
- Performs assignments in accordance with established safety policies and procedures.
- Adheres to the Quality Policy, including all items assigned to this position in accordance with ISO policies, procedures, and work instructions.

- Maintains good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned work sites.

- Refers to work order or procedural instructions appropriate for each job, function or assignment before commencing work.
- Performs any specified quality assurance checks designated for each job, function or assignment.
- Assures that all work assigned to position is performed in accordance with specifications, instructions and requirements.
- Demonstrates ability to meet production standards on specific assignments within a reasonable time, depending on the degree of difficulty of their job functions.
- Ability to operate a semi-automated furnace for heat-treating high-pressure cylinders.
- Ability to react quickly to correct problems with automated material handling equipment.
- Ability to follow heat treat operating procedures and monitor that the furnace is operating.
- Ability to identify cylinders and stamp heat lot codes on heat treated cylinders.
- Ability to perform and relieve Furnace Load Operator, Furnace Operator and Furnace Off-load Operator.
