About The Position
The HP Goss Operator is responsible for performing a variety of operational functions that constitute the production, inspection, and distribution of products or services. This role requires adherence to safety policies, quality standards (including ISO policies), and company work rules. The operator must maintain a clean work environment, display appropriate work ethics, and follow procedural instructions for each job. Key responsibilities include operating the Goss machine, changing out tooling, using inspection gauges, identifying flaws in cylinders, completing written reports, and understanding equipment set-up procedures.
Requirements
- Must possess an education or experience level that permits the employee to effectively communicate and perform duties, assignments and responsibilities of the job.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret the documents relating to the job, function or assignment.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical equations.
- Ability to make decisions when identifying in-process problems.
- Ability to deal with a variety of job assignments.
- Ability to use machinery/equipment required to accomplish a given job assignment.
Responsibilities
- Performs assignments in accordance with established safety policies and procedures.
- Adheres to the Quality Policy, including all items assigned to this position in accordance with ISO policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Complies with the work rules and standards set forth in the Employee Handbook.
- Maintains good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned work sites.
- Displays appropriate work ethics in the workplace and group settings which provides a positive work environment with co-workers.
- Refers to work order or procedural instructions appropriate for each job, function or assignment before commencing work.
- Performs any specified quality assurance checks designated for each job, function or assignment.
- Assures that all work assigned to position is performed in accordance with specifications, instructions and requirements.
- Demonstrates ability to meet production standards on specific assignments within a reasonable time, depending on the degree of difficulty of their job functions.
- Ability to operate Goss machine.
- Ability to change out Goss tooling.
- Working knowledge of gauges used in Goss inspection.
- Ability to identify flaws in cylinders.
- Ability to complete written reports.
- Knowledge of equipment set-up procedures.
- Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested for successful completion of the mission of Norris Cylinder.
