About The Position

The HP Toolperson performs a variety of operational functions including the production, inspection, and distribution of products. This role requires adherence to safety policies, quality standards (including ISO policies), and company work rules. The position involves maintaining a clean work environment, demonstrating good work ethics, and following procedural instructions for each job. The Toolperson is responsible for performing quality assurance checks and ensuring all work meets specifications and requirements. They must be able to meet production standards within a reasonable time frame, depending on the complexity of their tasks.

Requirements

  • Possess an education or experience level that permits the employee to effectively communicate and perform duties, assignments and responsibilities of the job.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents relating to the job, function or assignment.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical equations.
  • Ability to make decisions when identifying in-process problems.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of job assignments.
  • Ability to use machinery/equipment required to accomplish a given job assignment.

Nice To Haves

  • Willingness to be trained for Billet Saw, Press and Spin in the High Pressure Plant.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assignments in accordance with established safety policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to the Quality Policy, including all items assigned in accordance with ISO policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Comply with the work rules and standards set forth in the Employee Handbook.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned work sites.
  • Display appropriate work ethics in the workplace and group settings to provide a positive work environment with co-workers.
  • Refer to work order or procedural instructions appropriate for each job, function or assignment before commencing work.
  • Perform any specified quality assurance checks designated for each job, function or assignment.
  • Assure that all work assigned to position is performed in accordance with specifications, instructions and requirements.
  • Demonstrate ability to meet production standards on specific assignments within a reasonable time, depending on the degree of difficulty of their job functions.
  • Set up and perform changeover of tooling for the forge and drawbench.
  • Work as part of a team to efficiently perform tool changeover.
  • Operate a crane and hoists for heavy lifting.
  • Perform gas cuts using a plasma cutter.
  • Perform checks from buffing to determine if acceptable or not.
  • Be trained for Billet Saw, Press and Spin in the High Pressure Plant.
  • Do side wall checks on cylinders.
  • Accomplish all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested for successful completion of the mission of Norris Cylinder.
