About The Position

This HR Coordinator (Temp role) is designed for someone looking for professional growth and hands-on experience supporting HR systems, onboarding, employee records, and HR operations projects. Ascend Rehab Services is a therapist-owned, pediatric therapy organization serving children and families throughout Northern California. We provide Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Early Intervention, and School-Based Services across clinics, homes, schools, and our inclusive preschool programs.

Requirements

• Current college student or recent graduate pursuing Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, or related field
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Comfortable working with confidential information
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Interest in HR Operations, HRIS, People Operations, or Human Resources

Nice To Haves

• At least two years of experience previously in an HR role
• Experience working with databases, spreadsheets, or HR systems
• Interest in pursuing a long-term career in Human Resources
• Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now
• Exposure to HR Operations and employee lifecycle processes
• Experience supporting onboarding and compliance initiatives

Responsibilities

• Upload and organize employee documents and personnel files
• Assist with HR data entry and data integrity projects
• Coordinate onboarding paperwork and required documentation
• Assist with new hire orientation sessions
• Track onboarding completion and follow-up items
• Ensure employee files remain compliant and organized
• Manage electronic filing and document retention
• Maintain confidentiality of employee information
• Support HR compliance audits and file reviews
• Assist with HR process improvement projects
• Help develop and organize Ascend's internship program
• Support procurement and administrative workflows as needed
