The HR Business Partner acts as a strategic consultant to business leaders, ensuring HR strategies align with organizational goals to drive success. By delivering value-added services, they foster an engaged workforce and support both management and employees. Their expertise spans a wide range of HR functions, including compliance, employee relations, onboarding, policy interpretation, employment law, compensation, benefits, and professional development.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Business, Human Resources, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in human resources management/partner role

Nice To Haves

  • Corrections and/or Healthcare industry experience is a plus
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key contact for employee relations, conflict resolution, and workplace investigations, ensuring fair policy administration and compliance with state, federal, and local laws.
  • Conduct investigations, provide guidance on findings, and propose solutions.
  • Advise and coach managers on employee relations, including union environments, while collaborating with management to improve work relationships, morale, productivity, and retention.
  • Partner with other HR functions to drive engagement and workforce planning.
  • Identify training and coaching needs, provide tailored solutions, and lead onboarding processes to ensure smooth transitions for new hires.
  • Conduct compliance training, including union-related policies and National Labor Relations Act requirements.
  • Provide input on organizational structure, drive change management, and assist with handbook and policy revisions to align with regulatory updates.
  • Ensure compliance across HR functions by reviewing and communicating legal changes.
  • Work with internal teams and HR centers of excellence (COEs) to implement HR programs and initiatives, such as employee engagement, succession planning, and union engagement.
  • Interface with union negotiators and support broader HR strategies.
