About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Human Resources Assistant to support our HR department in Stoughton, WI. This role is responsible for assisting with daily HR operations, employee record management, recruitment support, and maintaining compliance with company policies and employment regulations. The ideal candidate is a proactive team player with strong communication skills and a passion for supporting employees and organizational success.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in an administrative or HR support role
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices is a plus
  • bilingual is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruitment and onboarding, including posting job openings, scheduling interviews, and preparing new hire paperwork
  • Maintain and update employee records in HR systems and ensure data accuracy
  • Support administration of employee benefits, including enrollment and answering employee questions
  • Process employment verifications, background checks, and I-9 documentation
  • Help coordinate employee training sessions and orientations
  • Assist with payroll preparation by collecting and verifying employee time and attendance data
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs
  • Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including Wisconsin labor regulations
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR team as needed
