About The Position

Alta Forest Products is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Temporary HR & Administrative Assistant to provide coverage during a long term leave of absence. This full-time temporary position will support daily office operations, human resources administration, employee support, meeting coordination, and various clerical functions. The ideal candidate is professional, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining strict confidentiality. This role interacts with employees, visitors, vendors, and leadership and plays an important part in supporting the overall efficiency of the operation. This assignment is anticipated to run through October 2026.

Requirements

  • Accurate data entry skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain organized and error-free records.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with basic spreadsheet functions including data entry, sorting, and filtering.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees, leadership, vendors, and visitors.
  • Ability to take organized meeting notes and communicate information clearly.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of administrative, office support, customer service, or related experience preferred.
  • Human Resources administrative experience highly desired.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet employees, visitors, and vendors and direct them appropriately.
  • Prepare, scan, file, and maintain documents and records.
  • Assist with correspondence, forms, reports, and other administrative documents.
  • Support purchasing and receiving functions through processing and scanning packing slips, log tickets, and related documentation.
  • Prepare meeting materials, agendas, sign-in sheets, handouts, meeting summaries, and action items.
  • Attend meetings and record accurate meeting minutes.
  • Track follow-up tasks and deadlines resulting from meetings.
  • Assist with onboarding activities including preparation of new hire paperwork and collection of required documents.
  • Maintain employee lists, directories, and training records.
  • Support HR with clerical and administrative functions.
  • Assist with safety-related documentation, recordkeeping, and investigations as assigned.
  • Handle sensitive employee information with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Support special projects, data cleanup efforts, spreadsheet maintenance, and process documentation.
  • Provide backup support to administrative staff during peak workloads or absences.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
