About The Position

Join Home Group as a Housing Manager in our Income Housing team in the South Region. This role is crucial in ensuring we provide safe homes and communities where people choose to live, while also maximizing income. You will deliver first-class customer service and uphold our customer promise daily.

Requirements

• Experience in the housing sector and understanding of housing management and housing law.
• Knowledge of rent arrears management in a housing environment.
• Willingness to work towards Chartered Institute of Housing Level 3.
• Resilience in dealing with complaints.
• Confident working with external partners and stakeholders such as local authorities, MPs, etc.
• Knowledge of housing law, safeguarding, and sustaining tenancies.
• A vehicle insured for business use.
• An Enhanced DBS check.

Nice To Haves

• Understanding of Universal Credit.

Responsibilities

• Look after a number of patches and customer accounts, ensuring compliance with our rent collection policy and procedure.
• Provide support where it's needed most, advising and supporting on benefit applications and maximizing income for customers (e.g., discretionary housing payments, Universal Credit applications).
• Build a knowledge base of regional support services and make successful referrals to external agencies.
• Work with housing managers on specific campaigns to reduce arrears, including targeted work with customers in a locality or where direct debits have been returned.
• Proactively work to commercially reduce debt within the region, with a positive impact for customers.
• Attend Court Hearings within your patch area, and occasionally within the region depending on need.
