About The Position

Support housing programs by verifying customer eligibility for housing services, supporting customers with information on housing options, and ensuring customer files are in compliance with contractual requirements. This role involves assisting customers with creating individualized housing plans, determining eligibility for rental subsidy and assistance programs, and supporting customers in housing searches. The position also includes providing educational workshops on tenant/landlord roles and responsibilities, maintaining regular contact with local landlords and other housing service providers, and assisting customers with basic budgeting activities. Maintaining timely and accurate documentation of all customer service activity is crucial, ensuring customer records are complete, accurate, and in compliance with contractual requirements. The role requires maintaining knowledge and compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures, as well as staying informed about local resources to refer customers to services and agencies that will support their goals. This includes verifying customer contractual eligibility for services, maintaining customer contacts, calculating rental subsidy amounts, and managing waitlists as needed. The position may also involve performing electronic background checks and income verification, as well as compilation and data accuracy checks for report submissions. The role promotes the agency mission, maintains confidentiality and complies with the code of ethics, and provides consistent professional customer service. Job performance incorporates an integrated service delivery model while promoting self-sufficiency. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year of work experience in human, social or customer services required.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and customer relations skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including word processing, data entry and spreadsheet in a windows environment.
  • Ability to develop and maintain & engage in positive relationships with people from various backgrounds.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to provide consistent even-tempered customer service at all times.
  • Works compassionately with a diverse population.
  • Experience navigating community programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in Sciences, Business, or Human Services preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Pre-employment physical exam and TB testing, if primary work location is at Hope Haven Shelter.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain physical exam annually, if primary work location is at Hope Haven Shelter.

Responsibilities
