About The Position

The Superintendent is responsible for comprehending and utilizing blueprints, sketches, drawings, technical manuals, and work specification instructions to weld steel and aluminum plates and pipe in the repair and/or construction of marine vessels, industrial components, and associated equipment. This position reports directly to the Project Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This position is responsible for the following: Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Must possess 5 years of experience welding 5XXX aluminum welding
10 years Navy Ship Repair Experience (shipyard,contractor,government)
Ability to comprehend and utilize blueprints, sketches, drawings, technical manuals to weld metals
Navy Standard Items Experience
Must have strong work ethic, be self-motivated, and able to multitask
Understand Work Process to measure, cut, and weld metal (of multiple material types) to required specifications
Ability to weld metal using various requirements and procedures such as SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW.
Basic understanding of NDT Requirements
Ability to conduct air, hydrostatic tests and vacuum tests
Able to work in a fast-paced environment with ongoing deadlines
Must be able to work independently
Understanding of Ship repair industry
Must be DBIDS/TWIC credential eligible
Must possess a valid driver's license
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
