About The Position

The Houseperson supports the housekeeping team at the Wolfeboro Inn by helping maintain guest rooms and public areas to high standards of cleanliness and orderliness. The role also supports room attendants, laundry attendants, and housekeeping supervisory staff in a timely and efficient manner. Housepersons work with inspectors and section housekeepers to maintain cleaning standards in assigned guest-room and public-area sections, and communicate special requests, low supplies, or damaged equipment to supervisors.

Requirements

Ability to bend, stretch, walk, and use stairs for the duration of the shift.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Ability to multitask.
Attention to detail.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Responsibilities

Move and arrange furniture, turn mattresses, and polish metalwork.
Collect soiled linens for laundering; receive and store linen supplies in linen closets.
Stock room attendant carts and linen closets with room supplies.
Clean rooms, hallways, bathrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, linen closets, storage areas, and other work areas.
Sweep and scrub floors; wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and mirrors.
Empty wastebaskets and room-attendant trash, and empty and clean ash urns.
Transport trash and waste to the disposal area.
Deliver ironing boards, baby cribs, rollaway beds, and other requested items to guest rooms.
Clean and remove debris from the loading dock.
Store supplies as received and assist with supply and linen inventories.
Wash and polish water glasses, then stack them in the linen closet.
Communicate special requests or duties to the supervisor.
Vacuum carpets on all floors.
Maintain the ice machine room.
Report low supplies and damaged equipment to the EHK.
