About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of guest rooms and common areas, particularly during overnight shifts. The Houseperson will perform general cleaning tasks, stock supplies, and ensure a tidy environment for guests and staff.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively and pleasantly in English with guests and staff as is necessary to effectively work within the department.
• Ability to grasp, lift, carry or otherwise move materials weighing up to 70 lbs.
• Ability to move throughout building, bend, stoop and reach on a continuous basis up to an 8-hour shift.

Nice To Haves

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred but not necessary.
• 6 months to 1 year cleaning experience in housekeeping or janitorial services preferred.
• No special licenses or certificates required.

Responsibilities

• Generally cleans guest rooms by moving furniture and cleaning areas such as edging carpets, washing inside windows, checking drapes, scrubbing bathroom floors, inspecting with a black-light, changing shower curtains, and vacuuming.
• Reviews assigned area and completes general removal of any trash or debris on floors of hallways.
• Stocks linen carts with clean linen and supplies.
• Transports linen carts to appropriate floor closets and neatly stocks them.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of floor closets: removes trash, wipes down shelves/counters, sweeps and waxes floors, and removes non-floor closet items and transports them to proper storage areas.
• Rotates mattresses on a quarterly basis.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
