About The Position

The Housekeeping Supervisor is generally responsible for assisting the Executive Housekeeper in managing housekeeping operations. This includes inspecting rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to achieve and maintain the hotel’s high standard of cleanliness.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years experience in housekeeping or similar industry
  • Supervisory experience
  • Organizational ability
  • Attention to detail
  • Interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to motivate and direct others
  • Will be required to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Will be required to work in fast paced, stressful environment.
  • Will be exposed to and working with household chemicals.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the training and career development of all housekeeping employees; assists with performance evaluations and communicating performance standards to employees.
  • Inspects the level of cleanliness in guest rooms, storage areas, laundry areas, restrooms and public areas.
  • Assists in scheduling staff according to standards and forecasted occupancy; assigns daily work tasks to employees.
  • Assists in tracking inventory of linen and cleaning supplies to maintain appropriate levels necessary for efficient operation of the department; assists with monthly linen and supply inventory.
  • Ensures the completion of the Housekeeper’s Report and communicates clean and available rooms to the Guest Services Department.
  • Documents and communicates maintenance requests to the Maintenance Department to ensure hotel service quality standards are met.
  • Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Follows company policies and procedures and is able to effectively communicate them to subordinates.
  • Conducts training regarding safety, security, department procedures and service guidelines.
  • Ensures hotel is in compliance with all federal, provincial and local laws, including Health and Safety, ESA and Human Rights.
  • Fulfills Manager on Duty and Lobby Duty shifts.
  • Other duties as assigned by Executive Housekeeper.
