About The Position

Otterbein is hiring a Housekeeping/Laundry Assistant to provide a clean living environment, linen, and personal clothing for residents, as well as clean linen for other team members. The role supports the quality of life and growth of older persons by delivering high-quality service in a cheerful and timely manner and communicating, coordinating, and cooperating with others to achieve shared goals. The assistant performs general housekeeping and laundry duties, including transporting laundry carts to designated locations. • High school diploma or GED preferred.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Wash, dry, and iron linens, garments, drapes, and residents’ personal laundry; hang personal clothes on hangers.
• Fold, count, stack, lift, and hang clean linen and personal clothing.
• Return laundered items to the appropriate storage areas.
• Distribute personal laundry to residents’ rooms.
• Immediately report broken or defective equipment, maintenance concerns, and unsafe or unsanitary conditions to a supervisor.
• Maintain an adequate supply of clean laundry and linen for residents’ daily needs and other departments.
• Interact positively with residents, family members, and personnel.
• Mix and use chemicals for special tasks.
• Help maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Use supplies and equipment economically and carefully.
• Follow established policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain quality resident care.
• Transport laundry carts to designated locations.
