About The Position

This is a permanent casual position focused on maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in assigned areas according to established standards. Responsibilities include deep cleaning in resident rooms, washrooms, dining rooms, and common areas, as well as cleaning office and nursing station areas. The role requires being on your feet for the majority of the shift, with tasks involving pushing, pulling, and lifting. There may be a need to use step ladders and exposure to dust, disinfectant solutions, and infection risks is possible. Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to hand hygiene policies are required.

Requirements

• On feet for majority of shift
• Pushing, pulling and lifting as required.
• May have to stand on step ladders to reach high places
• Subject to reaction from heavy dust or housekeeping disinfectant solutions
• Exposed regularly to infection when entering resident rooms
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Where required

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, sanitary condition in assigned areas as directed according to established standards.
• Perform deep cleaning in resident rooms, washrooms, dining rooms and common areas including beds, nightstands, toilets, sinks, floors and other resident room furniture and items.
• Sweep and mop and clean office and nursing station areas including desktop surfaces including telephones, photocopiers, computers, equipment, etc.
• Utilize the 4 moments of hand hygiene as per policy and education.
