About The Position

As a Hotel Houseperson at MGM Grand Detroit, you will help create an excellent guest experience by ensuring assigned rooms and areas are clean and ready for guest arrival. You will respond to guest needs and deliver requested items while maintaining cleanliness, organization, and supply levels in assigned areas.

Requirements

• Knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment, and supplies, and ability to follow directions effectively.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work within time constraints and established deadlines, with attention to detail.
• Effective listening abilities and strong judgment skills.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with business contacts.
• Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance in accordance with company standards.
• Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Keep assigned areas clean and neat.
• Clean ash urns; clean and dust lamps, mirrors, pictures, and similar items; and mop and clean marble or tile floors in assigned areas.
• Deliver requested items, such as refrigerators, pillows, rollaways, and cribs, to guest rooms.
• Empty trash and linen from Guest Room Attendants’ carts as needed.
• Maintain inventory levels, deliver supplies to assigned lockers, and stock lockers.
• Follow Quick Flood Response, safety, general clean, pull room, and quarterly mattress-flipping procedures.
• Clean restrooms in assigned areas; vacuum halls, lobbies, and edges; and clean hall railings, wallpaper marks, stairwells, and lockers.
