About The Position

MGM Grand Detroit is seeking a guest-focused Claims Representative to join its Risk Management team. The role assists guests through the claims process with empathy and efficiency, investigating and resolving low-to-medium severity claims involving valet, personal property, and auto liability. The Claims Representative analyzes evidence, manages claim reserves with financial integrity, collaborates with senior analysts, and works toward early, equitable resolutions while providing a high standard of guest service.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Three years of experience in customer service, security, or investigation roles.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in claims adjusting or in a legal setting.

Responsibilities

• Intake and review claims by gathering and investigating information, statements, and supporting evidence.
• Evaluate liability and damages, recommend reserves to management, and negotiate and resolve claims.
• Communicate with guests promptly, guide them through the claims process, and remain engaged through resolution.
• Investigate and assess valet, auto-liability, personal property damage or loss, and low-severity bodily injury claims.
• Review witness statements, photographs, videos, estimates, medical records when applicable, and other supporting materials to set reserves and obtain settlement authority.
• Maintain appropriate reserves that reflect potential financial exposure.
• Post accurate and timely claim payments in the database, process payments, and ensure each assigned claim's financial integrity.
• Assist Claims Representatives II and Senior Claims Analysts with administering higher-severity claims as needed.
• Provide clear and timely verbal and written communications to relevant parties.
• Resolve claims fairly and equitably within designated authority, following company settlement practices, policies, and procedures; consult management about settlements outside the authorized level.
