About The Position
The Housekeeping Houseperson supports the housekeeping department at The Mills House in Charleston, South Carolina, helping provide guests with a clean, welcoming, and comfortable environment. The role involves delivering linens and supplies, restocking housekeeping carts, maintaining public areas and assigned spaces, responding courteously to guest requests, and assisting with special projects and deep cleaning. The position requires attention to safety and sanitation standards and collaboration with the housekeeping team.
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Previous housekeeping or related experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Deliver clean linens, towels, and other supplies to guest rooms.
- Restock housekeeping carts and maintain an inventory of supplies.
- Clean and maintain public areas, including corridors, elevators, and lobbies.
- Empty trash and maintain cleanliness in assigned areas.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and inquiries.
- Assist the housekeeping team with special projects and deep cleaning tasks.
- Follow safety and sanitation standards.
- Work collaboratively with the housekeeping team to support efficient operations.
