About The Position

Crescent Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Housekeeping Houseperson to join the Housekeeping Team at its historic hotel in Evanston, Illinois. This is a unionized position on the PM shift. The role supports the hotel’s cleanliness and quality standards by maintaining guest-floor corridors and common service areas and assisting Room Attendants. Duties include handling and distributing linens and supplies, responding to guest requests, following cleaning and safety procedures, and reporting maintenance or safety concerns.

The position involves extended periods of standing and walking, as well as bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, repetitive movement, and safely maneuvering housekeeping carts and equipment. Previous hotel, housekeeping, janitorial, custodial, or similar experience is preferred. Requirements

• Basic English communication skills.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
• Ability to push and maneuver housekeeping carts and equipment safely.

Nice To Haves

• Previous hotel, housekeeping, janitorial, custodial, or similar experience is preferred.
• Multilingual skills are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Stock housekeeping carts, linen closets, and supply areas with linens, towels, guest amenities, and cleaning products.
• Collect and transport soiled linens, trash, and recyclables from guest floors to designated areas.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of hallways, stairwells, service landings, vending areas, and housekeeping closets.
• Follow the hotel’s carpet cleaning program.
• Assist Room Attendants with heavy items, extra linens, rollaway beds, cribs, and other guest requests.
• Promptly and courteously deliver requested items to guest rooms.
• Use, store, and label cleaning products and equipment in accordance with hotel procedures and safety guidelines.
• Report maintenance concerns, damaged items, safety hazards, and lost-and-found items to the appropriate supervisor.
• Respond professionally to guest questions and requests while protecting guest privacy.
• Follow hotel security, emergency, sanitation, and infection-prevention procedures.
• Support deep-cleaning projects and perform other housekeeping duties as assigned.
